Nobody should be pressured into giving their whole extended family Christmas gifts. I can't imagine how stressful it would be to buy a thoughtful gift for every uncle, cousin, second cousin, and cousin's wife who happens to show up at grandma's house on Christmas Eve. The best gift-giving isn't the kind you're forced into, but the kind you want to do out of your own volition. Nobody wanted me to buy my high school calculus teacher a cardboard cutout of Michael Bublé for Christmas, but I did it anyway because I had a primal animal need to.
