Community is an incredibly important thing. In some ways, it's all we have. We create communities at school, in our friend groups, at work, and when we play pickleball at the neighborhood park. We also create a community online. And the wonderful thing about online community is that you can bring people together who would have never met in real life. A school teacher in South Korea can connect with a real estate agent in Wyoming over their shared love of the TV series Dexter, and nobody needs to buy a plane ticket. 100 years ago, that could have never happened.
This is one of the things that Twitter is good for-- it brings people together from every reach of life, from every country, of every interest.
